Guardian News & Media

The Guardian is a British daily newspaper, known from 1821 until 1959 as the Manchester Guardian. Along with its sister papers The Observer and the Guardian Weekly, The Guardian is part of the Guardian Media Group, owned by the Scott Trust.

The Guardian came to us looking for a badge scanning solution to solve their lead retrieval process. They needed a quick and insightful method of automatically collecting attendee details at various points-of-interest from within their showcase event. This data then needed to be filtered and collated into insightful post event reports.

Challenge

  • Data for the guest specific QR code badge stickers need to be pre-loaded and synced with scanning units prior to event opening.
  • Walk in attendees need to be registered and make use of a QR code badge identifier when expressing interest at a scanning point.
  • Scanners must have location identifier capability to generate points-of-interest attendee data.
  • Scanners need to work offline, as the event space has intermittent web connectivity.
  • All queued (offline) scanned data must be synced back to the client web dashboard prior to generating attendee reports.

Solution

  • Direct consultancy with The Guardian event management team to formulate a successful solution to fulfil their lead retrieval requirements.
  • Client attendee data administration including Qflow for events creation and guest data formatting and data upload.
  • Unique-to-guest QR Code badge sticker printing.
  • Provision of Qflow for events laser scanners (including location based scan settings) for on site lead retrieval badge scanning.
  • Support and training throughout the run up and duration of event
  • Generation of post event attendee reports.

"From start to finish QFlow for events was amazing. They helped make our event run smooth and the peace of mind I had from working with them was invaluable! Would highly recommend this services".
